The 3SC recognises that for devolution of responsibilities from government, appropriate and proportionate governance arrangements will need to be agreed. Partners will need to work together in a more formal way to achieve our ambitions for prosperity which will require a system for collective, binding, decision making at a strategic level. We recognise the importance government will place on having a single point of accountability and all Councils will be involved in the decision about the form this might take.
How would devolution help?
Appropriate governance arrangements will enable the devolution of new powers and responsibilities to the 3SC from government. This will mean that more decisions affecting our residents and businesses can be made at a more local level.
