The 3SC Leaders have received a positive response following their joint letter to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Sajid Javid.
The Secretary of State recognised the strength of the 3SC bid, and was particularly impressed by the level of ambition, strength of partnership and commitment to delivering a deal. He encouraged the 3SC to continue their negotiations with Government officials and offered to meet in person when the deal is near agreement.
Leaders will meet again in September to continue the momentum towards doing a deal that will deliver real benefits for our residents and businesses.
